Burn-off escapes control

COUNTRY Fire Authority (CFA) units responded to an out-of-control planned burn on Wednesday.

A CFA spokesperson said units attended the incident near Gnarpurt at around 1.55pm on Wednesday, August 21.

“Five CFA units from Lismore, Cressy, Vite Vite and Derrinallum responded to the callout,” the spokesperson said.

CFA units worked late into the afternoon on Wednesday to extinguish the fire.
