Caleb wins bauble at Terang

CALEB Kavanagh finished on 41 points to win last month’s annual Christmas Bauble stableford at the Terang Golf Club.

Caleb, winner of A grade on Saturday, December 20, finished ahead of runner-up Mick Scanlon (15) 40.

B grade was won by Geoff Campbell (30) 39 from Peter Molan (28) 38.

Down the line: Gary Huebner 37, Phil Beasley 37, George Beasley 37, Anthony Kavanagh 37, Terry Coolahan 37, Stephen Arundell 36 and Liam Venn 36.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Cate Glennen, 6th Caleb Kavanagh, 8th and 11th Mick Scanlon.

The previous Friday’s twilight golf was won by Geoff Beasley on 19 points, with Tyler Beasley the runner-up on 18 points.

Judy Carmody was not deterred by the hot conditions on Thursday, December 18.

She racked up an excellent score of 42 points to win the 18-hole all day stableford, with Paddy Scanlon a close second on 39 points.

Balls down the line went to Leo Beasley 37 and Jason Karney 36.

The all day 18 hole and nine hole stableford competitions have been a great success and ran throughout the holiday period.

The Terang golf course is in excellent condition thanks to the club’s course curator and its dedicated volunteers.

The 2025 Medal of Medallists was won by Anthony Mills (12 handicap) on nett 69/gross 81.

On Saturday, January 3, 46 players took to the course for the January stroke/monthly medal and putting competitions.

The monthly medal winner was Leo Beasley (7) 69/76 on countback.

The A grade runner-up was Anthony Mills while Cate Glennon (17) won B grade on 68/85 followed by Damien Glennen (16) 70/86.

Down the line: Phil Beasley 70/70, Neale Grundy 70/80, Harper Rix 71/89, Ged Justin 71/93 and Mick Scanlon 73/87.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Cate Glennon, 6th Geoff Campbell, 8th Michael Heffernan and 11th Liam Venn.

The putting was won by Stephen Arundell with 22 putts.

The Friday twilight was won by Linda Kenna on 18 points, followed by Cate Glennon 17 on countback.

Brad Lucas won the Sunday stableford on 40 points, with Ethan Wyss 38 the runner-up.

On Saturday, January 10 a stableford event attracted 45 players.

Winner of A grade was Ian Thorby (5) 38 points with Josh Brown (1) 36 the runner-up.

B grade was won by Michael Heffernan (19) 36 followed by Ethan Wyss (17) 35 on countback.

The twilight golf was won by Caleb Kavanagh on 22 points, with Kerry Clarke the runner-up on 21 points on countback.
