Knights women aim for Gold

COBDEN Gold are through to the grand final of the South West Cricket Association’s women’s competition after a strong win over Cobden Blue in last Wednesday’s semi final.


Batting first on the turf wicket at the Cobden Community Bank Recreation Reserve, Cobden Blue were restricted to 5/81 from their 20 overs.

Opener Ana Dickson top scored with 22 from 52 balls, with Abbie Hanks the only other player to reach double figures with 12 off 24.

Charlotte Meade led the Gold bowling with 2/11 from four overs, with Ingrid Bellman and Kelsey Fratantaro taking a wicket each.

Gold cruised to victory in 17.1 overs, with Bellman top scoring with 30 retired from 46 balls.

Meade made 15 from 42 balls, with Fratantaro 16 not out from 18 balls at the end.

Blue’s only wicket came from a run out.

Tonight’s grand final will be held at Ecklin at 5pm between Cobden Gold and Bookaar.
