Livestock stolen
POLICE are urging farmers to check the security of their paddocks with a recent report of stolen cattle.
Camperdown Police Acting Senior Sergeant Stuart Revell said 13 cattle were reported as stolen from the Port Campbell area, but encouraged all farmers across the shire to ensure their farms are secure.
“This impacts the livelihoods of farmers because it can come at a great monetary cost when cattle are lost or stolen,” he said.
“We want to be able to support the farmers in our community and make sure these sorts of things don’t happen.
“It’s also an opportunity to ensure the security of your own paddocks, gates and fences to ensure people can’t gain access to your farmlands.”
Anyone who sees or hears of anything suspicious around farms is encouraged to contact Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au, or ring 000 if an urgent response is required.
