Moulden strong with the bat
A RECORD score from Jess Moulden led the Pomborneit Gold women to a 51 run win over Colac at CMTP Oval on Sunday.

Batting first in the round 10 Colac District Cricket Association match, Gold posted 8/129.
Moulden had already retired on 30 and came back at the fall of the seventh wicket, adding 45 with Kaitlyn Ward after Gold were 7/84.
Moulden smashed an unbeaten 71 from 41 balls with 13 fours and two sixes, a new record individual score for the CDCA women’s competition.
“Jess showed again what an incredible player she is,” Gold captain Samantha Coxon said.
“She batted well in her first stint, then to come back and lift our score from an ordinary one to a highly competitive one was crucial in the result.”
Earlier, Nellie Sadler had made 22 from 27 balls as the only other player to make double figures.
“We’ve got a bit of work to do with the bat, the application was a bit average from a few of us.”
Opening bowler Tayla Reynolds soon had Colac in trouble at 3/11, eventually dismissing the home team for 78 in the 22nd over.
Reynolds led the bowling with 4/11 from 4.4 overs, with Coxon and Kaitlyn Ward taking two wickets each.
“Our bowling was really good, we made it hard for them to score.
“Tayla was outstanding with the new ball, her pace is hard to play when she gets it right.”
Moulden’s effort with the ball was also highlighted by Coxon.
“Jess is just so hard to score off. She was unlucky not to get a wicket, but probably contributed to wickets falling at the other end.”
Moulden finished with figures of 0/11 from five overs.
