Nominations open for town’s difference makers
THE Rotary Club of Terang has opened nominations for its annual awards for those wanting to recognise individuals and businesses which make Terang such an incredible place to live and work.
Nominations are open across a number of different award categories including the Customer Service Award, Business Excellence Award and Young Achievers Award.
Rotary Club of Terang president Wayne Reicha said the awards had been a popular outlet each year to recognise individuals and businesses who quietly make the community what it is.
“We’ve been doing the awards for as long as I’ve been in a member of the Rotary Club of Terang, so that’s over 30 years,” he said.
“They’ve been done every year as a way for our township to recognise people within the community.
“It isn’t recognised at a shire level, which makes this a way to more directly recognise the people in our community.”
Mr Reicha said nominations were open to any members of the community who made a positive difference to the lives of those around them.
“If there is someone you would like to put forward, you’re invited to write up a note outlining why you would like to see them recognised, or can you text me,” he said.
“The Young Achievers Award can be for anything from sports to community service or fundraising.
“We’ll look over all the nominations, investigate what they’ve done and we’ll look forward to giving out the awards at some stage during June.
“We’ll recognise the winners in the Terang Express to give them a bit of a boost and congratulate them on all their success.”
Nominations will be open until the end of May.
