Senior women’s cricket begins
FEMALE cricketers across the south west will made history this week when the inaugural senior women’s competition kicked off.
Round one of South West Cricket Association’s first female competition began on Wednesday night.
With five teams currently entered, the inaugural season will consist of 10 home and away games thanks to the efforts of female cricket coordinator Craig Hanks and members of the sub committee.
Round one this week saw Ecklin face Camperdown Lakers at the Ecklin Recreation Reserve, while Bookaar and Cobden Knights Blue met at the Camperdown College.
Cobden Knights Gold had the bye round.
Anyone interested in playing in this competition is encouraged to contact their local club or the league.
