South West honours top players
SOUTH West Cricket Association has honoured its top players for senior 2024/25.

A special awards presentation ceremony was held earlier this month, with some close vote counts the highlight of the evening.
The division one best and fairest award was a three-way tie, with Bookaar brothers Eddie and Fraser Lucas and Storm’s Matthew Love all finishing on 12 votes.
Love also took home the batting award with 636 runs and was named the Fonterra T20 Cup Player of the Year on seven votes.
Cobden’s Parker Walsh won the division one bowling award with 27 wickets.
In the senior women’s vote count, Cobden’s Jess Walsh took out the best and fairest on 14 votes and was also named the Rising Star.
Ecklin’s Rachel O’Keefe also had a stellar season, taking home the Best First Year Player award and the bowling award (12 wickets).
Cobden’s Ingrid Bellman finished the season on 203 runs to take home the women’s batting award.
In division two, Cobden’s Michael Pegg won both the best and fairest award (22 votes) and the bowling award (25 wickets) while Storm’s Ryan Jones led the batting with 588 runs.
The division three vote count saw Pomborneit’s Tony Evans take out the top prize, while Storm’s Leigh Doak was named winner of the bowling award with 20 wickets.
The division three batting award went to Pomborneit’s Tony Evans with 396 runs.
Other awards presented throughout the night included the following:
Representative player of the Year Award – Lachie Green (Bookaar).
Representative awards, Melbourne Country Week – day one Charlie Lucas, day two Lachie Green, day three Matty Boyle, day four Lachie Boyle, five wicket haul Charlie Lucas.
Under 21 Rising Star award – Parker Walsh (Cobden).
Under 17 Country Week awards: Player of the week – Parker Walsh (Cobden); five wicket hauls – Parker Walsh (Cobden) 5/21 and Ben Whytcross (Pomborneit) 5/19.
