Strong fields at Mortlake
LAST Sunday’s three-person ambrose at Mortlake Golf Club was won by Glenn Baker (5), Matt Baker (32) and Luke Baker (22) with scores of 9 5/6-67-57 1/6.
Runners-up were Slade Palmer (0), Scott Palmer (5) and Tyler Schafer (7) on 2-60-58.
In third place were Phil Moorby (33), Paul Tobin (15) and John Black (5) on 8 5/6-68-59 1/6.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Tyler Schafer, 6/15 Luke Baker and 9/18 Paul Wareham.
Balls down the line went to Kurt Robertson, Andy Casson, Gary Glossop, Ryan Tanner, Jake Tanner, Will Tanner, Rob Field, Bruce Knee and Warren Durdin.
Forty-five players contested the annual tournament 18 hole stroke event last Saturday.
A grade scratch winner was Slade Palmer on 71, with Paul Hansen runner-up and Chris Van Diemen third.
The A grade handicap was won by Tyler Schafer 7-78-71 from Kurt Robertson 8-80-72 and Chris Huffadine 10-84-74.
B grade scratch was won by Ron Oakley on 86, with Steve Hubbard second on 93 and Richard van Diemen third on 94.
Paul Tobin was the B grade handicap winner on 15-87-72 on countback from Dave de Run 28-100-72, with Matt Baker third on 2-106-74.

The winners on the day were Cecilia Campbell-Narik (42) and Loraine Jansen (43) on 49 points.
Runners-up were Muriel Aberline (29) and Jill Davidson (24) 43 points, with Pauline Armstrong (38) and Lyn Cook (32) 42 points in third.

The men’s 4BBB stableford last Wednesday, February 12, attracted 72 players despite the hot conditions.
The winners on the day were Barry Wolfe (24) and Carl Murphy (19) on 44 points, followed by Andy Lamont (7) and Les Dawson (13) 42 on countback from Kevin Etherton (10) and Glen Byers (22) on 42.
