Under 13 Knights get the points

THE under 13 Knights resumed on Monday night after the Christmas break, registering a 36 run win over Ecklin at Camperdown number two.


Batting first, the junior Knights made 2/93 from their 24 overs.

Anderson Pekin and Ryan Bailey both made the 20 run retirement mark, Pekin scoring 22 from 25 balls and Bailey 21 from just 10 balls.

In reply Ecklin were restricted to 9/57 from their 24 overs.

Bailey made it a fine all round game with 4/0 from two maiden overs.

The next game for Cobden’s under 13s is on February 2.

Cobden’s senior cricketers will resume this weekend after not playing on the first week of the split round.

In the Colac-South West premier competition, the Knights will host Ecklin at the Cobden Community Bank Recreation Reserve.

The division two Knights travel to Princetown to play Heytesbury-Princetown Blue, while in division three Cobden host Heytesbury-Princetown at the Camperdown number two oval.

Cobden’s under 16s return on Sunday with a game against Bookaar at Frederick St.
